If you don’t do it, who’s going to do it for you? Tell you daily five fundamental truths that can help you be your best and live the good life?

  1. I am my own amazing person

Start with the basics. You are your own person. Unique, one-of-a-kind, different. You don’t have to be like someone else to be good. The good is inside you; it comes in many forms but it’s there. You may be defined by your past- your family, your early experiences, even your trauma, to a certain extent. But there’s another layer- you are also defined by your thoughts, your feelings, your motives, your behavior. Actions speak louder than words. You always have an option. Every day you can be your own amazing person, in small ways that impact your life and the lives of others.

2. I choose to be positive

Positivity is a choice. Maybe you were dumped. You had a terrible fight with your best friend. Growing up, your family was crappy; and it still is. Maybe you are way too stressed out and stretched out. Whatever it might be, you always have a choice- to choose to be positive. That doesn’t mean you pretend all the negative doesn’t exist or that you forget it. On the contrary; you acknowledge what’s going on in your life, how your past may have shaped you and, despite all that, you choose to have a positive outlook on life.

3. I can do anything I set my mind to

There’s nothing that can stop you other than your limiting thoughts! What is it that you want to do? What are your aspirations? Did you set any goals yet? Remember, no one can truly stop you. Your path may have roadblocks, but there’s always a way to bypass them, to go over them and leave them behind. Just make sure that besides imagining a bright future you need to actively do something. Start today by doing one small thing that leads you in that direction. Repeat it tomorrow. And the day after. Then add one more action. Before you know it, all the small changes you made will amount to something that’s going to be a lot bigger!

4. I respect and nurture my precious self

What about starting with the basics? Do you address yourself in a warm, friendly, positive manner? What does your inner voice sound like? Look yourself in the mirror and deliver a positive message: “I love you and I value you,” “You are good, you are strong, keep going,” or “I can’t control who loves me, but I am in charge of loving myself.” Forgive yourself of past mistakes. Let go and move on. Make a list of three things that you need in your life today. Next to them write some first steps you can take that will lead you there.

5. I am prepared to succeed

If you want to succeed in anything, first you have to prepare. What’s your vision? You need to have a concrete and specific idea of what you want to succeed in. Otherwise it’s hard to pin down what you need to do and you may drift aimlessly in different directions. Give your best self in what you do. Don’t start by making excuses like “I ‘ll take the project more seriously when I have time,” “I ‘ll wait till I get some inspiration,” “I ‘ll do it tomorrow,” etc. Remember that every excuse is a delay and a roadblock to success. Identify what it is you need to do in order to achieve your dream. Be consistent, put the effort, and believe in yourself.
